SRC Parking
Residents
Do not park in the visitors’ spots, the loading zones or anywhere else inside the gates during business hours.
Your designated car park is Drummond Street. You need a Melbourne City Council permit to park here. If you need a permit for your car see Kevin Kelley in Room 8. If you drive more than one vehicle to work, that’s ok, but you need a permit for each vehicle (no more than two per person).
Visitors’ parking
There are designated places for visitors parking to the left side of the SRC entrance. There is room for about 5 vehicles. Once the visitors’ spots are all occupied, visitors must find available parking in the street.
Events
It is the responsibility of event organisers to inform their participants of the parking arrangements at the SRC.
Daytime parking
There is no parking provided by the SRC during business hours. Download this map for information on available parking (this map is also available outside the room 8 door). Visitors to the building who park in the permit zone during business hours may be fined by Melbourne City Council. Please advise your participants.
The nearest all day car parks are:
Lygon Court (Safeway) on Drummond Street, Carlton (5 minute walk)
Elgin Street carpark near corner of Lygon and Elgin Streets, Carlton (5 minute walk)
Clocktower at 255 Drummond Street, Carlton (10 minute walk)
Melbourne Museum (10 minutes)
After hours and weekends
Participants may park inside the gates after 5.30pm Monday through Friday and anytime on weekends. The gates to the tennis court may be opened if you are expecting large numbers at your event. That arrangement must have the approval of the principal. Participants may also use the school car park after hours and the permit zone in Drummond Street after 5.30pm.
Loading zone
This area must be kept clear until 5.30pm for delivery vehicles. Australia Post delivers at approx 9.00am and collects between 4.00pm and 4.30pm. Couriers and tradespersons utilise this area all day.
Do not park in a loading zone.
Disabled zone
The Disabled zone is reserved for the Abilities Education Unit and visitors with disabled permits.
Do not block
- the gate to the tennis courts – emergency services access required at all times.
- the area leading to the Carlton Youth Services – this is their only access.
- the area where the recycling bins are placed on Tuesdays.
